Women's Basketball Drops Close loss to Friends JV
Wichita, Kan. - UA Cossatot women’s basketball fell up in Kansas, losing a close 74-71 game against Friends University JV at the Garvey Center.

The Colts (0-6) fell behind early but rallied in the first and found themselves up 13 late in the fourth but could not seal the deal, losing to the Falcons.
The first quarter started with Friends leading 11-2, but Cossatot finished the quarter on a 17-4 run to lead 19-15 after the first ten minutes.
A steady second quarter ensued, with UAC leading 39-36 at halftime as sophomore forward Alexandria Bunch led the team with 14 points.
Both teams scored 19 apiece in the third quarter, with the score 58-55 heading into the final 10 minutes.
With the score tied up at 58 with eight minutes to go, a massive Colts run ensued, scoring 13 unanswered points in the next five minutes. However, the Falcons made a 12-0 run of their own over the next two minutes. With 44 seconds left, they had the ball with a chance to take the lead.. and scored with an and one, extending the run to 15-0. The Colts missed their shot and had to foul. With Friends making their first free throw and missing the second, Cossatot had a chance to send the game to overtime with 2.8 seconds left. This did not happen however, with UAC dropping to 0-6.
Bunch had 18 points, while freshman guard Niylah Jones had 17.
Conference play is up next, with the Colts opening up at home on Wednesday, Dec. 3 against Southeast Arkansas College at 5:30 p.m.
