De Queen, Ark. - University of Arkansas Cossatot held its first-ever all-sports athletic banquet Wednesday Night, honoring the 2025-26 athletic season and bestowing season awards upon student-athletes.
UA Cossatot shooting sports Head Coach Brett Blackburn has been selected to the 2026 Arkansas State Trapshooting Team, the Arkansas State Trapshooting Federation announced.
San Antonio, Texas - UA Cossatot shooting sports kicked off the new year, coming in 15th place out of 27 teams including Division I institutions such as Texas A&M and LSU at the Lower Midwest Conference Championships in its first shoot of 2026. Starting off in In the sporting clays, the Colts saw Laci Litchford (72), Luke Floyd (62), Lauren Trevino (61), Joshua Tucker (58) and Rhett Bullinger (53) comprise their top five. UAC Head Coach Brett Blackburn praised the team's efforts to overcome tough weather. "Very tough shooting conditions this morning. Lots of wind and cold made good scores rare." Blackburn said. "I am happy with their efforts. Skeet, Lauren Trevino and Joshua Tucker topped the best five Colts scores with an 87, rounded out with an 83 from Floyd, a 79 from Rylee Jackson and a 77 from Lichford. On Sunday, Luke Floyd topped the Trap list with a 96 score, followed by a pair of 87's from Tucker and Lichford, with Trevino scoring an 85 and Jaden Bates getting an 84. The Colts will be back in action again next weekend.

DE QUEEN, Ark. - The UA Cossatot Athlete of the Month honors have been announced for October, with Francesca Doreus repeating as female Athlete of the Month while Luke Floyd winning Male Athlete of the Month marks the first time the honor has gone to a member of the shooting sports team.
Lonoke and Jacksonville, Ark. - UA Cossatot shooting sports competed in the Tri-States Championships at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Shooting Sports Complex in Jacksonville and the Remington Gun Club in Lonoke over the weekend, coming in fourth place.
