The Colts (8-15, 2-9 Region 2) erased a sizable first half deficit and had multiple leads, but could not close the deal against the Stars (11-6, 9-2 Region 2)
The Colts fell into a quick hole in the first half, but managed to come back to take the lead via an RJ Patton layup with 3:36 to go in the half. Trailing 33-31 at halftime, Patton was UAC's leading scorer in the first with 10 points.
The second half was extremely intense, with the game fluctuating between one and two-score leads for both sides.
SAC managed to pull ahead a bit in the final two minutes, and prevailed despite missing two free throws while up two points in the closing seconds, eventually building a five-point buffer which rendered Dylan Glover's buzzer-beating three for Cossatot obsolete.
Patton led the Colts with 20, while an 11-point second half via multiple crucial three-pointers gave Glover 13 points.
The Colts now have a pivotal matchup ahead at home, with an all-important matchup with rivals National Park College set for 3 p.m. Saturday.
