The Colts (8-10, 2-4 Region 2) came back despite falling behind big, but the Ridge Runners (11-6, 2-4 Region 2) were able to hold on for the win.
The first half was close early and was tied 8-8 a few minutes in but after that PCCUA took control, and the Ridge Runners were up by generally about 10 points or so for most of the first half, ending the first half of 35-25. Dylan Glover was the standout Colt in the first half, scoring nine points
The Ridge Runners went up by as much as 17 in the second half, but a tenacious Colts comeback on the last 10 minutes made things interesting. The Colts made it a two-point game with 7:43 to go, but never made it any closer. The doors were open for Cossatot on numerous occasions in two or three-point games to tie the game or take the lead, but UAC could never break on through to the other side.
In the end, Phillips won 71-62. Sophomore guard RJ Patton led the Colts with 17 points, while Glover (11), Peter Serunjoji (10) and John Ateny (10) were all in double-digits.
The Colts are back in action at home on Wednesday, Jan. 14, facing off against Arkansas State-Newport at 7:30 p.m. the Bank of Lockesburg Gymnasium.
